On April 05, 2016 ABA organized a Forum with the theme of “International experience in anti-crisis managemnet”.
It was attended by chairman of Financial Markets Surpervision Authority Mr Rufat Aslanli, president of ABA Mr Zakir Nuriyev and chairmen of banks, members of ABA.
R. Engin AKÇAKOCA was a main speaker of the Forum. Akçakoca was a Chairman and the CEO of both, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) and the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF) of Turkey in 2001. Examples of some achievements during the 2001 financial crisis include; restructuring of State owned Banks; recapitalization of Private Banks; intervening 7 problem banks; resolving (merging, selling or liquidating) 18 banks and issuing more than 150 regulations to bring the Turkish Banking System in line with international standards.
